90° accumulating conveyor – the preferred conveyor belt for loading!

Conveyor belts are used more and more frequently as a magazine for loading robotic cells. However, the systems that were originally conceived for conveying from one cell to another are not perfectly suited for the worker loading area. After all, voluminous protective casings prevent the contact of the worker with the hazardous deflection mechanism. At the same time, these casings limit the space available for loading.

The 90° accumulating conveyor is a better solution. The pallet rotated by 90° is moved on one level. This is why the pallet is driven by one friction coupling only which means that a mechanical form closure is not required in the deflection area. Therefore, no protective casing is required. As a result, all sides of the conveyor belt that are open towards the aisle, i.e. right, left and the front side are available for loading by the worker. Moreover, loading is perfectly ergonomic from the sides.

Improved capacity, improved worker protection, improved utilization of space – all these are points in favour of the 90° belt as a loading magazine.
