Punching clamps

Punching the four holes for the license plate into the trunk lid – this was the task presented to us by a renowned German OEM.

A simple and low-cost solution was required, of course. This was not least why we decided not to employ the originally planned concept of using several punching clamps for this purpose. The punching clamp designed as a C-frame was equipped with an additional column guide to cater for the holes located far apart from each other. The system is driven by a TÜNKERS multi-force cylinder, a pressurized air cylinder which achieves the high punching force of 25 kN by means of the integrated toggle mechanism.

The simple, maintenance-free, complete drive system was one of the reasons why the end customer opted for the punching station from TÜNKERS.
