Belt instead of chain

The chain is the centrepiece of the AFS accumulating conveyor. This simple and robust drive element has been tried and tested in several thousands of applications of TÜNKERS/APM systems used in body-in-white assembly. And, by the way, most competitors use this technology as well.

But chains have their flaws, too. They must be lubricated regularly and they are becoming longer in the course of time. This was the motivation for the development of the accumulating conveyor belt with a spur belt drive. Maintenance-free, low-noise and almost fully compatible with the proven AFS technology – these are the features of the new system.
