Ever Higher is Possible - APM Flexible Storage System

In modern car factories accumulating conveyors serve as buffers and transport units between manufacturing cells.

The required buffer capacities determine the length of the conveyor belts.  Usually they can be found in horizontal orientations and result in a high consumption of layout space.

The flexible storage system developed by APM, however, takes accumulating conveyors to the next level.  By means of an accumulating unit the vertical buffer between loading and unloading station can be flexibly traversed and therefore saves valuable space.
